A l'origine appelé Katalepsya, Apocryphe est un groupe de Black Metal originaire de Mulhouse qui a été formé par Mammon et Wolves en juin 2005. Alors que Mammon prend la place de chanteur et Wolves celle de batteur, le groupe verra de nombreux guitaristes intégrer puis quitter la formation.C'est seulement en juin 2006 qu'arriva Butcher à la lead guitar. Un seul concert sera donné sous le nom de Katalepsya, à l'occasion de la fête de la musique à Besançon en compagnie de groupes comme Nocturnal et Profondis Requiem. Katalepsya disparaîtra officiellement après et les trois acolytes s'enfermeront dans leur local afin de préparer la renaissance de leur formation.
Février 2007 Apocryphe révèle son visage pour la première fois lors d'un concert à Mulhouse, le groupe propose un style un peu plus rapide mais relativement simple. Mammon est maintenant Bassiste et Chanteur, Butcher Lead Guitariste, et viendra parfois ajouté sa voix a celle de Mammon. Wolves reste fidèle à sa Batterie, et un nouveau membre (il quittera le groupe peu après cette date) prendra la place de Guitariste Rythmique.
Juin/Juillet 2007 la première démo d'Apocryphe "The Genocide of the Christian Soul" est disponible et Légion complète le line-up comme second guitariste, mais en Décembre, lui et Wolves serons virés du groupe pour des divergeances survenues avec les autres membres.
L'année 2008 sera significative pour Apocryphe qui retrouve au début de l'année un nouveau batteur du nom de Panzer, et quelques mois après, Doom le second guitariste. Son style évolue et change radicalement du fait du niveau des nouveaux membres et de l'experience acquise par le groupe. Apocryphe propose maintenant un style plus proche du brutal Black Metal, mais reste encore très varié dans les influences et les ambiances, pouvant donc proposer des titres plus calmes. C'est avec ce nouveau line-up et ces nouveaux morceaux qu'Apocryphe participera la même année à plusieurs concerts avec d'autres groupes tels que: Profondis requiem, Caïnan dawn, Frostmoon eclipse, Irae, Rising purge, Vakuum, Absynth, Ode to decay, Fraktur, Methnakriss, Endless night, Headshake, Morghash, Subura, Malevolentia, Trypanon, et Hats barn.

Called Katalepsya at its beginning, Apocryphe is a black metal band from Mulhouse, originally formed by Mammon and Wolves in June 2005.
While Mammon is performing vocals and Wolves drums, many guitarists will join and leave the band until June 2006, when Butcher arrived to take on the role of lead guitarist. Katalepsya will only perform a single concert at the “fête de la musique” of Besançon, along with locals, such as Nocturnal or Profondis Requiem. Then, the band will officially disappear, as the 3 acolytes lock themselves in their local to prepare their rebirth in every detail. A band with a simple but faster style than Katalepsya reveals itself, Apocryphe, for a concert in February 2007 in Mulhouse.
Mammon now deals with both bass and vocals, while Wolves still manages the drums and Butcher the lead guitar, the latter sometimes assisting Mammon with the singing. A new member is taking on the rhythm guitarist role, but will leave the band shortly after his arrival. In June/July 2007 becomes available the first demo of the band, entitled “The Genocide Of The Christian Souls”, on which Legion completes the line-up, being rhythm guitarist. In December this very year, both Legion and Wolves will be fired from the band because of a disagreement with the remaining members.
The year 2008 will be the most meaningful one in the band history, with the early arrival of a drummer called Panzer and, few months after, of a second guitarist named Doom. The style of the band promptly improves itself and deeply evolves, not only because of the excellent level of the 2 new members, but also since it has acquired a lot of experience. Apocryphe's style is now closer to brutal black metal than it ever was, even if it is still heterogeneous as far as influences and atmospheres are concerned, which allows the band to perform “calmer” pieces.
With his destructive new line-up and songs as black as a winter night is, the band will appear on stage many times along with other bands such as: Profondis Requiem, Caïnan Dawn, Frostmoon Eclipse, Irae, Rising Purge, Vakuum, Absynth, Ode to Decay, Fraktur, Methnakriss, Endless Night, Headshake, Morghash, Subura, Malevolentia, Trypanon, or Hats Barn.
